We are happy to be able to offer internal medicine and diagnostic support through Dr. Jarod Williams, DACVIM (SAIM), CVA. Dr. Jarod Williams has extensive training in interventional veterinary ultrasound & endoscopy and is a published author on the subject. Dr. Jarod can offer services unique to the northwest Arkansas region and find solutions to some difficult problems.
Diagnostic Abdominal Ultrasound
Using a state of the art, high resolution mobile veterinary ultrasound unit, Dr. Williams is able to investigate common abdominal maladies; vomiting and diarrhea, anorexia, pancreatic, gall bladder, kidney & liver diseases, lower urinary disease, anemia, thrombocytopenia, etc… we are able to collect fluid or cytology samples important for diagnosis that are not easily accessible otherwise.
Ultrasound examination of the heart is essential to diagnose and choose appropriate treatment of heart disease in companion animals. Dr. Williams uses an echo table and appropriate instrumentation to perform full cardiac work-ups on patients in need.
Abdominal Ultrasound and US Assisted Procedures
- Abdominal Studies
- Guides Aspirations and Therapeutic Injections
- Therapeutic Centesis
Utilizing veterinary ultrasound guidance, Dr. Williams will be able to perform therapeutic centesis to stabilize and manage some diseases pending diagnosis. Thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, abdominocentesis can all be performed with or without sedation. Specialized procedures, such as parathyroid adenoma injections have high success rates to treat hypercalcemia without performing surgery.

Interventional & Surgical Endoscopy
Interventional (Surgical & Oncologic Endoscopy)
Utilizing ligasures and endoscopic optical diode laser filaments, we have the abilities to dissect, cut, coagulate, seal and ablate internally with a small incision. We can successfully perform surgeries that previously required major open surgical fields, significant pain and long recovery times. Confined spaces such as the ear, nose, throat and lower urinary passages are best visualized endoscopically. Results are immediate, recovery is rapid and expenses are reduced!
Using a diode laser and rigid endoscope, we reduce ectopic channels back into the bladder trigone. Obstructive urethral and bladder trigone TCC can be relieved using diode laser ablation, allowing time for chemotherapy to take effect. Nasopharyngeal obstructive diseases can be reduced with minimal trauma, reestablishing temporary or long term function while we develop a plan to manage the underlying problem.
Perinephric cysts can be decompressed and excised through a 1 cm incision. Urinary Calculi can be visualized and retrieved with minimal or no incision in many cases.
Internal Medicine Consultations
Traditional internal medicine consultations regarding infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine disease are very welcome. Dr. Williams has a particular interest and experience with difficult immunopathology and endocrinopathies.
Using a combination of conventional chemotherapy, integrative techniques along with the latest immunotherapy regimens, we have many new tools to help improve oncology therapy responses and outcomes longer term.
Transfusion Support Services
Finding out your pet is severely anemic can be worrisome. Dr. Williams, supported by the NWA community animal blood bank, can use transfusion and diagnostics to help determine the origin of your pet’s condition, then develop and assist with a treatment plan when possible.
Pain Management Consultations
There are few things more satisfying than helping an animal overcome chronic pain. Through multimodal approaches, including medications, acupuncture and cold laser therapy we can generally find a program that helps our loved ones live their lives out to the fullest.
Soft Tissue Surgery
Dr. Williams has experience and is prepared to perform numerous major soft tissue surgical procedures that often require special instrumentation and training. Dr. Williams will always recommend referral to a surgical specialist when possible for most major surgical interventions. When referral is not possible, we will develop a plan that provides your pet the care they need without the stress and expense of major travel.
